Choose a base around your routine
Compare lace, polyurethane and monofilament by fitting and maintenance needs.
Start with your intended hairstyle and the time you can reserve for maintenance. An exposed front hairline, a fringe and a changeable part create different consultation questions. Bring photographs of styles you like, but also describe an ordinary working day. Wearing a hair system is an optional styling choice; the useful question is how a construction fits your preferences.
Three catalog examples make the vocabulary concrete. LaVivid Sanders uses Swiss lace with a listed 80% density. HairByMHE DuraSkin lists a 0.05 mm polyurethane base. HairBro Duro Mono combines a monofilament center with a polyurethane perimeter. These are construction descriptions, not proof that one will look better on every wearer. Density labels and product photographs do not establish identical results across brands.
Ask the fitter to identify attachment areas on a drawing. Which surfaces contact adhesive, where would trimming occur, and does the proposed size leave those areas intact? A combination base needs this discussion as much as an all-lace model. Request the exact manufacturer's maintenance instructions before committing to a routine.
Reduce the shortlist to two constructions and compare usable dimensions, colour availability, hair direction, alteration limits and who will perform the fitting. Record unanswered questions separately from confirmed specifications. If a seller cannot explain a critical compatibility point, pause that purchase instead of borrowing an assumption from another model.
